Frequently Asked Questions

1. How Does the Challenge Work?

  • Find 15 minutes a day - exercise for at least 15 minutes a day for as many days as possible throughout the 6-week challenge.
  • Join a team – exercise for as many days as possible as a team, as the leaderboard is calculated by the average number of days exercised by all team members (bigger teams don't have an unfair advantage).
  • Win the challenge – The team that exercises the most days during the 6-week challenge wins the competition!

2. How do I win the challenge?

Simply be active for just 15 Minutes a Day for it to count as an "Active Day".

Motivate your team to be as consistent as possible with their exercises. Exercise for as many days as possible as a team during the 6-week challenge.

Track your progress on the Online Platform. The team that exercises the most "Active Days" for at least 15 minutes per day wins the challenge.

Important Note: The only exception to this rule is in the case of a Tiebreaker.

3. How is a Tiebreaker decided if there are equal team "Active Day" scores at the end of the challenge?

There is only one occasion when the number of minutes of exercise counts towards the challenge.

In an event of two teams finishing the challenge on an equal "Active Days" score (e.g. two teams finish on a 39/42 day score), the tie will be decided by looking at the highest average number of minutes per team to determine the final winner.

4. What is considered exercise for the purpose of the challenge?

For the purposes of the challenge, exercise is defined as "any activity in which you are consciously performing a physical effort to increase your overall health".

So if you chose to do an activity to better your health then count it towards the challenge. However, if you are doing it because of any other reason and you were going to do it regardless of whether it benefits your health or not then do not count it.

For example, walking towards your bus stop does not count towards exercise for the challenge, but getting off a couple of stops early to walk for 15 minutes does.

In addition, if you chose to walk to work or ride a bike instead of driving/using public transport for the benefit of your health then count this towards the challenge.

5. If I'm already exercising on a particular day or days prior to the start of the challenge, do I need to do extra 15 minutes of exercise on that day for it to count as an "Active Day"?

For example, if you are doing something active on Monday and Wednesday prior to the challenge, just keep it up and count it towards your 15 minutes. You do not need to do additional 15 minutes on those days.

In this case, as part of the challenge, your goal is to also do something active on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for at least 15 minutes a day.

At the end of the challenge, you will find it easy to find time to exercise and will feel healthier, more upbeat, and relaxed, among many more other great benefits!

6. What type of activities count, when can I do them and do I need to do them in a team?

It is completely up to you when and how you exercise. We are strong believers in not placing any restriction on the way people chose to exercise. Everyone is at different levels of fitness and have different lifestyles.

Every person has their own preferences, so do whatever works for you. Because if it works well for you, then you are more likely to enjoy it and stick with it long-term.

You can choose to exercise any time during the day (before work, during lunch time, after work). It can be any type exercise you like that you see will have a benefit for your health. You can exercise by yourself or with your team and get a bigger group involved!

7. Will I get extra points for exercising more minutes in a day?

Exercising more minutes is very much encouraged as we want you to be as fit and healthy as possible but it will not give your team extra points.

Exercising more minutes is fantastic but this challenge is about focusing on consistency in finding the time to exercise in your day, because of that the points are assigned for the number of days exercised and not the minutes.

There is only one occasion when number of minutes exercised counts. In an event of two teams finishing the challenge on an equal score (e.g. two teams finish on 39/42 day score), the tie will be decided by looking at the highest average number of minutes per team to determine the final ranking.

8. Do I have to enter exercises in every day, or can I enter exercises that I've done every few days? How far can I backdate and enter my exercises?

We advise you to enter your exercises daily. However, you do not have to enter exercises in every day, as you can enter your exercises every couple of days.

You can enter exercises 5 days back on the platform before those days become unavailable.

9. Can I do the challenge without joining a team?

We encourage participants to join a team because we believe that participants get more benefits from being part of the team through encouragement, forming positive relationships, and competing against other teams.

However, you are more than welcome to do the challenge on your own. You can set a goal for yourself to be active for at least 15 minutes a day and challenge yourself! You will still be in the running for some awesome individual prizes.

10. How do I have the best experience of the challenge on a mobile device?

The challenge Online Platform is run on a Web Application. You can access the platform on any browser on any desktop or mobile device.

To get the best mobile experience please click "Add to Home Screen" on your mobile.

This will give you quick and easy access to the Online Platform on your mobile.

11. What other information do I need to know?

The scores for all teams on the Leaderboard are paused 7 days before the end of the challenge and will be revealed when the winners are announced.

Please enter only honest exercises into the platform as the challenge depends on an honesty system.

Most importantly, have fun and enjoy all the benefits that come with being active every day!
